29 May For one day, every year, we get as much daylight as possible. How are you going to use it?
June is the halfway point. At the end of the month, there will be just as much of 2019 ahead of us as there is behind us.
Benchmarks are a great way to track the progress you’ve made toward your goals. Every time we hit the 6 month, 2 year, or 10 year mark, it gives us a chance to stop and look at what we’ve done or haven’t done. Anything feels possible when you break it down. What can you do this minute to create the hour that you need? The day you need? The month and the year?
What can you do this second to build your epic life?
The June solstice is the longest day of the year. Here in Phoenix, there is an extra 4 hours and 26 minutes of daylight than there is on the shortest day in December, just 6 months before.
This day always feels so long in comparison. But every day before it has been preparing us for this one. The sun has been rising a little earlier and setting a little later each day. This has all been building to this one day. For one day, every year, we get as much daylight as possible. How are you going to use it?
Better yet, how have you been preparing for this moment to maximize every second of every day that is given to you? Whether you get 14 hours of daylight or 8, are you enjoying it? Relishing in it? Working, loving, and living in it? Or are you watching Netflix for 2 hours of it and wondering why you never feel like you never get to enjoy your time.
Every month, we ask you to look at where you stand in one form or another. This repetition is intentional. It is an opportunity to use what you are given to dive deeper into self-reflection. If you cannot see yourself, you cannot see where you are or where you are going.
And you definitely cannot see how you are going to get there.
Check in constantly and consistently in all the gardens of your life. Set whatever benchmarks you want. Just make sure you set them.
As the Earth shifts closer and closer to the longest day of the year, so can you. In these next 3 weeks until June 21, set a goal to add 3-4 minutes in the morning and at night to do something that will help you to expand even further.
Imagine adding an extra 8 minutes to your day, every single day for one year. That would give you an additional two days! The question is not what can you do, but what are you going to do, and when will you start?
We challenge you to start today!
